Welcome to Plastic Labs. This is the front door for your first week. Start with the company-wide basics below, read the shared context, then follow your role track.

Day 0 — accounts & access

Get these from a founder on your first day:

  • 1Password — most secrets live here; you’ll need the right vault for your role
  • Tailscale — internal services (Porygon/Varoom, Mimir, Logflare) are only reachable through it
  • Slack and Discord — team comms and community
  • GitHub (plastic-labs org) and Linear — code and issue tracking
  • Role-specific accounts are listed in your track below

Read first (everyone)

  1. What is Honcho, and what are we optimizing? — the mission, the product thesis, and the metric we move. Read this before anything technical.
  2. System Map — how Honcho, Groudon, Kyogre, and the ML pipeline fit together.
  3. Pokédex — every codename you’ll hear in standup, what it points to, where its repo lives.

Pick your track

  • Engineering — self-host the core repos, conventions, week-1 goals.
  • Research — the research pillar, evals, and the training/inference pipeline.
  • Developer Relations — accounts, tooling, and first contributions for DevRel.

As you go

Keep a running list of every point of friction (missing keys, unclear docs, broken commands) in the friction log — it’s how we improve this onboarding for the next person.
